Welcome to Mixtape, our weekly feature where we hand the keys to the WASTOIDS Spotify account over to cool folks to share what they’re listening to.

Buck Gooter was founded in 2005 by artist Terry Turtle and Billy Brett, who performs with a variety of sound makers, including a theremin and drum machines. Turtle passed away in 2019, but made Billy promise to continue on. Buck Gooter’s new record Ghost Brain was produced by Oliver Ackermann of A Place To Bury Strangers and Death By Audio.

For this installment of Mixtape, Brett’s crafted a playlist of jams he’d rock with Terry on the road. “Some selections I remember eliciting a ‘that’s cool’ or a nod-along from Turtle, but others would call for a full on sing along by the crammed denizens of the tourmobile. I remember one time TT sang over Ozzy for the entire Sabbath Bloody Sabbath album and it was better than any other musical experience I had on that tour (by far). These are transport jams for me, in more ways than one.”
