Attention all “summer babes”: legendary indie rock band Pavement has announced a summer tour, featuring seven dates in July, including a July 17 stop at the Mosswood Meltdown in Oakland, hosted by the King of Filth, John Waters. Pavement has been relatively quiet following the release of the 2024 experimental film Pavements, though they did contribute a new song to that movie’s soundtrack, a cover of Jim Pepper’s song “Witchitai-To.” 2026 marks the 30th anniversary of Pavements’ 1996 EP Pacific Trim, which was created specially for an Australian tour that year. Though it’s out of print, you can find those songs on the Sordid Sentinels Edition of their 1995 classic Wowee Zowee, which features art by the mythic DIY painter Steve Keene, whose artwork decorates the very studio we record Music News!
