One decade ago, Detroit post-punks Protomartyr released their third album, 2015’s The Agent Intellect. Featuring cuts like “The Devil In His Youth” and “Why Does It Shake?” the record was hailed by Rolling Stone as a “a testament to perseverance. To celebrate the anniversary, Protomartyr have announced a new live album, Pin Eyes Under the Alder. Recorded at the Pickathon music festival in Happy Valley, Oregon in 2016, it features songs from The Agent Intellect alongside deep cut rarities. Pressed on high grade wax at Third Man in the Motor City, the live album is out December 5th. It won’t be available on streaming services at all—meaning if you want to hear this barn burner, you’ve got to pick up the limited edition vinyl from Hello Merch. Pre-orders are live now, so cruise over the Protomartyr shop and get yours while they last.
