Decoy Deloy has your music for May 3rd brought to you by Hello Merch. This week at Hello, we’re celebrating the return of the late Jóhann Jóhannsson’s soundtrack to Mandy, which is back in stock on vinyl. Crafted with producer Randall Dunn and guitarist Stephen O’Malley of Sunn O))), the soundtrack drops listeners into a world of sci-fi fantasy horror. The vinyl’s housed in a deluxe gatefold sleeve with printed insert, UV spot gloss finish, lovingly pressed at Optimal in Germany for optimum sonic quality. What an amazing movie, what an amazing soundtrack.
Plus: Madlib has released a new track, “Reekyod,” featuring Black Thought of The Roots and Your Old Droog.
In other news: One of the most talked about indie rock albums of 2024: Cindy Lee’s sprawling Diamond Jubilee can’t be found on Spotify or Apple Music—if you want this one you’ve gotta check out a YouTube stream or the band’s old school Geocities site, where you can download the double album and make a payment directly to the band.
And to close: British artist FKA Twigs shared with a US Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Intellectual Property earlier this week that she’s developed an AI deepfake version of herself. Arguing that this is powerful technology in artists hands, she warned third parties could use it to deceive fans. Twigs plans on using her deepfake on social media in the near future.
